The Ideal Candidate:
There are times when our practice must turn away patients because they are not a good candidate for the procedure and our number one concern is not the number of patients we bring in but the quality of care and high level of service we provide to the community. Our ideal candidates for the refractive correction procedure are individuals who are over 18 years old, the age in which vision is most stabilized and those that have healthy corneas. Ideal candidates should not have had a significant change in their vision within the past 12 months prior to the date of their procedure. Individuals with certain medical conditions or women who are pregnant or nursing are not considered ideal candidates for the LASIK procedure.
Realistic Expectations:
We take pride in being upfront and honest with our patients, as it coincides with the high level of customer service and satisfaction that we strive for. It is important that our patients have realistic expectations with respect to their procedure outcomes. Actual results should be based on facts and statistics as opposed to personal desires or misconceptions. The goal of this procedure is to reduce your dependence on corrective lenses and/or contacts. Most of our patients never have to deal with the hassles of contacts or glasses after their procedure.
