Dr. Jeff Chen received his Bachelor of Science in Science-Business at the University of Notre Dame in 2011, where he served as captain of the Notre Dame golf team and competed at the NCAA Division I level for 4 years. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry in 2016 and completed his clinical training at the VA at The Villages (FL), VA at Lyons (NJ), Advanced Vision Center (IL), and LasikPlus (UT). He has also received recognition from the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and is also a Gold Key recipient.
He is nationally board-certified, glaucoma certified and is licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. He has extensive experience in managing refractive surgery, cataract procedures, KAMRA inlay, and pterygium procedures. He is fluent in basic Chinese and takes pride in providing exceptional care for all of his patients.
Dr. Chen is passionate about community service and education - he has participated in local community vision screenings such as the Special Olympics, the Coachella vision clinic, and has traveled to Vietnam and Honduras to provide vision care. He has also established IQ Laser Vision as a premier clerkship rotation for future optometrists from Western University of Health Sciences, and it is this experience that gives students insight into refractive surgery and general ophthalmology. Some of his interests include fitness, hiking, college football (Go Irish!), international travel, food, and golfing.
