Dr. James J. Kao grew up in both New York and California and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He then obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health at George Washington University in Washington, DC, as well as medical degrees from the Western University of Southern California and International University in Southern Florida. He completed residency and fellowship training at Michigan State University and the University of Cincinnati, respectively.
Dr. Kao participated in refractive eye surgery studies as early as 1991 at the University of California, Irvine Department of Ophthalmology, where he also received his ophthalmologist board-certification. He takes pride in utilizing the latest refractive surgery techniques to provide the most advanced technology to his patients. He has performed more than 70,000 refractive procedures, and is a former LASIK patient himself and has performed numerous LASIK procedures on his family members. Dr. Kao is committed to providing his patients with the best that modern medicine has to offer.
