Dr. Richard K. Lin, affectionately also known as Dr. Richard at IQLV, has meticulously cared for laser vision correction patients since 1999. He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 1991, and has been actively practicing eye care since receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in 1996. Dr. Richard is always looking for ways to help others on their journey for better vision.
Dr. Richard had part of his clinical training at the Blind Children’s Learning Center in Tustin, California, where he helped to provide vision care for physically and mentally challenged children. He continued his clinical service at the Foothill Center for the Partially Sighted where he assisted the elderly with low-vision services. Dr. Richard then completed his clinical experience at the Indian Health Services Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and also at the VA Healthcare System in Los Angeles where he continued to improve his clinical skills in diagnosing, treatment, and management of eye diseases and disorders.
Dr. Richard has provided pre-operative and post-operative care for over 65,000 laser and implant refractive surgery patients. A former LASIK patient himself, he can personally relate to the concerns of his patients. At IQ Laser Vision, Dr. Richard has also helped children reduce their dependency on glasses and contact lenses, as well as slowing the progression of their nearsightedness via the Orthokeratology (Orthro-K) Program.
Dr. Richard is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese. His goal is to provide world-class patient care to help everyone enjoy a higher quality of life with their new and clear vision. He has been recognized by the Vision Service Plan and Corning Optics for providing outstanding patient care in primary care optometry, and for excellence in his treatment of low vision.
