Dr. Robert T. Lin founded IQ Laser Vision in 1999 with a desire to provide the best vision correction experience available. As the Center’s Medical Director, Dr. Lin ensures that all IQ Laser Vision Centers are equipped with the most advanced technology and provides the best patient care possible.
Dr. Paul B. Kouyoumjian is a native of Southern California. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern California (USC), and earned his doctoral degree from the Chicago Medical School. Following an internship at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore where he conducted research in corneal diseases.
Dr. Gregory H. Phan attended the University of California at Berkeley where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He continued his medical career at the University of California Davis School of Medicine, where he received his Medical Doctorate. Knowing he wanted to specialize in eye surgery, Dr. Phan completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
Dr. James J. Kao grew up in both New York and California and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He then obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health at George Washington University in Washington, DC, as well as medical degrees from the Western University of Southern California and International University in Southern Florida. He completed residency and fellowship training at Michigan State University and the University of Cincinnati, respectively.
Dr. Erica T. Liu is a Bay Area-native who graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley with a double major in Neurobiology and Public Health. Following an enlightening career detour doing email marketing for Google, she returned to her path to medical school and hasn’t looked back.
Dr. Uyen T. Nguyen received her undergraduate science degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and then attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2003. Dr. Nguyen completed her clinical internships at the New England Eye Institute and Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Massachusetts, as well as at the VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, California.
Dr. Richard K. Lin, affectionately also known as Dr. Richard at IQLV, has meticulously cared for laser vision correction patients since 1999. He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 1991, and has been actively practicing eye care since receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in 1996. Dr. Richard is always looking for ways to help others on their journey for better vision.
Dr. Michelle D. Tran attended the University of California, Davis where she received her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, with a minor in Communications. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry. She graduated with the highest recognition for maintaining membership in Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society through all her years of optometry school.
